Priya Sebastian is an awesome artist and illustrator who works mainly in charcoal and pastel.
Whenever I see her work I feel 'black' is the most beautiful colour.

Self-Portrait
The most striking feature in most of her illustrations are the 'eyes' of her characters, they seem to express so many different emotions!
Yama
She uses colours also beautifully just to give that extra punch.* Sigh*

House Tour - Simone & Richard's Beach House
00/00/0000, 00:00 | Original Site: absolutely beautiful things
Vintage ladies swimmers framed and hung on a wall in the breakfast room.

A vintage tea towel framed in a vintage frame which Simone has given a fresh coat of white paint.
What's a beach house without a set of vintage oars??

As time passes Simone will collect more bits and pieces to fill this gorgeous little shelf.
Vintage cane dining chairs - another fabulous Ebay find!!
OMG - It's a head vase!! I LOVE head vases and this one is gorgeous and was filled with fresh flowers picked from the garden.
The 2 wing chairs came from Ebay with a 4 seater sofa. They work so perfectly in the room!!
A beautiful collection of vintage things above.
My favourite thing was the pair of vintage child's swimmers framed and hung on the wall. What a beautiful idea!!
This vintage chair was in Charli's bedroom...so cute!!
I think I might have been bidding against her on this yellow cane chair on Ebay not so long ago...
Inside Simone has opted for mismatched vintage dining chairs around the breakfast room table. We were all treated to a special lunch cooked by our friend Jody and as we sat and enjoyed the view of the bay on a perfect day we chatted and watched the children play on the grass in front of us. I cooked my famous lemon and coconut cake for dessert (well only famous within my family and friends) and I topped it with fresh flowers which I picked from Simone's garden. Jody also took some gorgeous cupcakes from The Cupcake Company as a house warming gift which we all enjoyed.
It really was the most perfect Sunday lunch and I was completely in awe of their beautiful home and Simone's amazing creativity. It just goes to show that even working on a tight budget you can create something very, very special. I just can't wait to go back for another visit!!
My Kitchen Shelf...
00/00/0000, 00:00 | Original Site: Rang-Decor {Interior Ideas predominantly Indian}
There is this small shelf in my kitchen which inspires me to try out various arrangements. The little blackboard definitely helps me convey a message:-) It doesn't require any great skills but has me smiling all day.

Do you also have such a corner, a shelf, a table or a windowsill in your home that inspires you to try new creative arrangements?49. The Kingsway
00/00/0000, 00:00 | Original Site: let your creativity .... FLOW
Edward and I used to live in Etobicoke, just minutes away from The Kingsway before we moved out into the burbs. We would drive down the old neighbourhood and just stare at the fantastic homes standing along the side of the roads. I lived my whole life in Toronto but never have I been so drawn to a specific neighbourhood. We would park on Bloor St and walk around the town pick up the best croissants at the local french bakery, fruits from the vendors and sipping on a star bucks coffee we decided one day that this would be our future neighbourhood - the neighbourhood we would raise our kids in.
So, recently I started doing a little research on The Kingsway.
The Kingsway is situated on former Clergy Reserve lands that were deeded to the Church of England in the early 1800s. The church leased this property to farmers until 1908 when it was acquired by Robert Home Smith, the visionary who planned The Kingsway neighbourhood.
Home Smith and Company began marketing this subdivision in 1912. However the sale of homes in The Kingsway was stalled by the outbreak of World War I.
Home Smith's motto for The Kingsway was "a little bit of England far from England". His lofty ideal was to establish an English-style garden suburb of the highest integrity and beauty. It is Robert Home Smith's legacy that The Kingsway endures today as one Toronto's finest neighbourhoods.
This well planned community was designed for families. The houses and properties are a good size, the streets are pedestrian friendly, and the schools, shopping, churches, and recreation are all within walking distance. These houses were built between 1924 and 1947 and include some of the finest examples of Old English classical and vernacular architecture in Toronto.
Many houses in The Kingway feature handsome stone exteriors, intricate tapestry brick patterns, and elaborate stucco and half timbering designs. These homes also feature solid oak doors, leaded glass windows, fanciful bay and oriel windows, and decorative wrought iron railings and porch lamps.
Now that I just gave you an entire history lesson on The Kingsway, there are the great original English style homes built by Robert Home Smith that we fell in love with!

00/00/0000, 00:00 | Original Site: Design Mind

Postmodernism was originally a reaction to modernism. Largely influenced by the Western European disillusionment induced by World War II, postmodernism tends to refer to a cultural, intellectual, or artistic state lacking a clear central hierarchy or organizing principle and embodying extreme complexity, contradiction, ambiguity, diversity, interconnectedness or interreferentiality, in a way that is often indistinguishable from a parody of itself. The home entitled Bunny Lane is what I would call true postmodern architecture. With a mix of style and no central aesthetic principles, it is a home that encompasses two unique homes under the roof of a third. It is wildly unique with lots of contradiction and ambiguity and breaks the boundaries of residential architecture as we knew them to be. Bravo to Architecture & Hygiene for this fabulous design. Can I have some LOVE with that peanut butter & jelly?

A BEHIND THE SCENES SCOOP : The story behind this P & J shot above. I didn't have any strawberry (red) jelly spread, so I decided to improvise by using what I had in the fridge. I placed some Apricot spread (which is a yellowish color) onto a plate and then added some red food coloring. Lets just say it works wonders and red jelly is the result!

birthday celebrations for my balance & bliss
00/00/0000, 00:00 | Original Site: studio wellspring
i once read somewhere that a sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost. today my sister turns 31 and i'm beaming with celebratory pride that i am so tightly connected to such an incredible lady. growing up together teaches you a lot of things about each other, some good and some not so good {we're all human of course}, so it's no wonder some siblings don't remain close. but we're lucky ones. our friendship has always been there, and grew even tighter once we both left the nest. we know more about each other than any two other people. and now we're so close that rarely one day goes by without contacting each other. we're almost two years apart, but when we were little people often asked if we were twins. we have the same nose, and some of the same gestures & manurisms, but she's definitely a unique gem all her own. she's the younger one, but the taller one {by 6 inches}. she's the darker one, and by far the prettier one {drop-dead gorgeous, actually}. she's steadfastly loyal, has a beautiful sentimental side, and a fantastically strong will. she's a perfect gemini goddess. she's very wise and the hardest worker i've ever known. she has a calm confidence and a fantastic sense of humor ~ she's a big flirt, and makes any activity more fun. she stayed closer to home, although she did venture far enough to live with me in seattle for a while after college. she has so many talents and skills and inner gifts i couldn't begin to name them all. i am so grateful for all the balance and bliss she has brought to my life. i admire her for every thing she does and is. and there's nothing i wouldn't do for her.
a sister ~ she is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. she is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. she is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. she is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child. ~barbara alpert {but that last part i haven't felt since we were pre-teens sharing the same bedroom} :o)happy birthday, jessica grace, i love you more than words can tell!
